Louise works with adults and children, bringing a trauma informed approach to her work.
This means that Louise understands how all of us develop ways of coping with life’s difficulties that, while they seemed to work at the time, are no longer adaptive. She understands that many people feel at a loss and do not know how to change. Louise is skilled at helping her clients to identify unhelpful patterns and find creative ways of reframing them. She enjoys turning problems into solutions.
Louise is trained and experienced at working with EMDR, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing.
EMDR is an evidence-based psychotherapy recommended by NICE for the treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. It also has a strong evidence base for the treatment of OCD, generalised and social anxiety, phobias and depression. Louise attends regular professional CPD courses and ongoing clinical supervision to keep her practice fresh and up to date.
Louise also brings creative therapeutic approaches into her work such as the use of art and play. This helps children to feel safe and settled in the therapy room and can also inspire adults who have lost touch with their own ability to play and to feel joy.
If you are serious about making positive changes in your life, Louise is the therapist for you.
Louise is experienced at working with:
Anxiety and panic, including OCD and phobias
